How to feel the meaning of "Allahu Akbar!"

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! What does this mean?

Alright! Does it simply mean "Allah is the Greatest!"?

Let us think a bit further on this phrase. Do we really feel it? Do we wholeheartedly believe what we said up there? Hold on! Get more comforted and read the following example.

Compare your size in your house. Compare the size of your house to your city. Compare your city to the country. Compare the size of your country to the continent. Compare the size of your continent to this Earth. Compare the size of the Earth to other planets in this Solar System. Compare this Solar System to the other Solar Systems in this Milky way (Our Galaxy). Compare the size of Milky way to all the Galaxies. Compare all the Galaxies to the size of the Universe. Think about the size of Allah's Throne which is the BIGGEST Creature. Think about Allah Who is beyond our mind limits.

Only if we read and get a lesson....

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said: "There was a man from among a nation before you who killed ninety-nine people and then made an inquiry about the most learned person on the earth. He was directed to a monk.

He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine people and asked him if there was any chance for his repentance to be accepted. He replied in the negative and the man killed him also completing one hundred. He then asked about the most learned man in the earth. He was directed to a scholar. He told him that he had killed one hundred people and asked him if there was any chance for his repentance to be accepted. He replied in the affirmative and asked,
`Who stands between you and repentance? Go to such and such land; there (you will find) people devoted to prayer and worship of Allah, join them in worship, and do not come back to your land because it is an evil place.' So he went away and hardly had he covered half the distance when death overtook him; and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of torment. The angels of mercy pleaded, 'This man has come with a repenting heart to Allah,' and the angels of punishment argued, 'He never did a virtuous deed in his life.' Then there appeared another angel in the form of a human being and the contending angels agreed to make him arbiter between them. He said, `Measure the distance between the two lands. He will be considered belonging to the land to which he is nearer.' They measured and found him closer to the land (land of piety) where he intended to go, and so the angels of mercy collected his soul".

O Allah! Why ME???

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Whenever he faces and accident and get injured, the word uttered from his mouth is, "why Allah did this to me from the 6.9 billion?"

Whenever a relative of him passes away, leaving the family in grief, he says, "Ali's father is so old, but why Allah taken my 40 year old father before him?"

Whenever Allah makes him face a trial, he says, "why so hard for me?"

But....

He NEVER bothers to ask why Allah has blessed him with such a pious spouse and a good home.

He NEVER bothers to ask why Allah has made him able to see, hear and talk while there are many without them.

He NEVER bothers to ask why Allah has selected him to be able to get education up to a level where he can manage his life.

I ask....

How can a believer sleep so comfortably after knowing this?

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Dear respected brothers and sisters. I am extremely sorry for the long time without updating the blog as I had to be away on a trip.

InshaAllah again we will be having topics as before.

Meanwhile, I would like to mention a Hadith regarding Paradise, and Hell Fire. Indeed this is something we all must read again and again, and make our hardened hearts soft.

He is very dedicated, clever, motivated and doesn't leave behind any traces! Who is he? What does he want? What crimes has he commited? How does he do it?

I was shocked to meet Ramadan in a sudden!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

One of them said: I was shocked when Ramdan came suddenly. It increased my happiness. However, I was not yet bought things to my house. It met me before I gathered food items for Ramadan.

The first days of Ramadan has been spent on Market. Subuhaanallah! The whole place was filled with people and sound. I have seen people jumping over the stoles.

I said to myself: Inorder to make time for Quran and other 'Ibadah on these blessed first days of Ramadan, where have I and these people have been all these days? How good it would be if I have bought what I wanted for Ramdan before it arrives? But........its too late now.

Terracotta Army. Whats that???

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Let me tell something before I start. If I were to ask you what is the most famous place in China, what will be your answer?

Okay that is correct! Great Wall yeah?

Well, I am not going to tell you about the Great Wall of China. This is going to be entirely different.

You might have heard about the great Emperor Qin Shi Huang. He was the first Emperor of China. But......why am I talking about him??

Hold on! InshaAllah soon you will know why.

He was a very powerful Emperor, who lived in around 200 BC. All the Kings and Rulers had a special attention on his actions, due to the fact that he never lost in any war he faced, and due to his cleverness.

However,

Do you love as they loved?

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

This is full of wisdom for the Youngsters of this Ummah. The love of Allah and Messenger in their hearts made these two young boys to attempt to kill the Strongest Enemy of the Ummah at that time.

They are sons of Afra. Abu Jahl never stole their PS3 or Computers etc, but they intended to Kill him. WHY do you think my dear brothers and sisters? In one narration, it says that when ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf (radiyallahu 'anh) asked them about the reason why they are searching for him, both of them said, "We have heard from our mother that this person has insulted the Prophet of Allah (pbuh)." Subuhaanallah! What a perfect love. This is the love we need to grow in our hearts and actions too.

‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf (radiyallahu 'anh) related the following interesting story in this regard:

Friday, August 05, 2011

Oh Mommy! I cannot, because this is Ramadan!!!

Assalam 'ALaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

These are the days in which a lot of people among us makes so much of excuses on things saying "Oh Come-on! You see, I cannot do that because this is Ramadan! I just cannot."

Starting from individuals to presidents, this is a common excuse. Why???

They say that fasting is making them tired. Fasting loses a lot of energy. Fasting prevents them being active. Oh boy! Really?

Let us make a quick analysing how the best people of this Ummah has spent their lives in Ramadan. Yes the Salaf al-Saliheen.

When Ramadan comes, the great Sahaba (radiyallahu 'anhum) of the Messenger (pbuh) becomes so active in their all daily lives, plus in other affairs too. Keep in mind that the climate, the temperature variation in the cities of Makka and Madina and their surroundings.

Tears of worries and sadness...

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Minutes, hours, days, weeks and months are passing by. Each and every second of life reminds us about a very important fact that we are traveling towards our end. Our ancestors who lived here like us, have gone now. Our fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers are leaving this what we call 'beautiful Dunya' one by one.

Each and every creation of Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) in this world is preparing for something very special, except us. It is to meet a guest who visits us once in a year. Yes you got it right. It is Ramadan. Beginning (10 days) of Ramadan is Mercy, center (10 days) of it is forgiveness from Allah and last ten days are protection and setting you free from hell fire.

But...........

Before pointing fingers on others...

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Its not so beautiful and happy to see what we often see these days. Everybody (including myself) are busy. Yes too busy. In what? In Judging people, in backbiting, in calling others by names, in making takfeer, in hearing haram, in seeing haram and in walking towards haram.

A blessed month is meeting us soon. Are we prepared to welome this blessed guest of us who visit once in a year? Is the place (heart) cleaned before it arrives? What have we done to
prepare?

O my dear respected brothers and sisters in Islam! You are the hope of the Ummah. Yes you, the one who is reading this. Let us ask these questions for ourselves inorder to make it easy to see a real picture of our individual situation.

1) How much information do I know about the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam), the best man who ever pleaced foot on earth's surface, and His companions? And how much information do I know about the famous polititians, celebrities, football & cricket players, film stars and singers?

Suppose if:

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Suppose if:

1) Your Uncle is arriving this evening with the kind of gift you wanted most. Will you welcome him?

2) You are a prisoner and there is a programme that if you done it accordingly, you will be free. Will you complete the program?

3) You are a poor person and a billionaire is opening a 100% free chance for you to ask for any amount of money you want in his wealth, he will give. Will you ask for any?

4) Someone came to you and said that there is a game which will be difficult when you start and will not get difficult when the levels changes, and if you win a particular hidden level, you will be granted an Air Bus A-380. Will you try to finish all the levels carefully?

Just Please Leave me Alone!!!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

I am out of decisions now. Do not know where to go and where to hide. I have been living a very peaceful life until two tiny birds hit two pens and they were fallen down. Do not be surprised and confused! The way you look seems you are confused now. You should not be the one to be, and I am the one.

Do not look at me! I hate all of you people. I thought I would never be used on the news papers and articles ever, and I was very proud to be there in the books of professors and those who have knowledge. However.......

Just sit back and imagine!!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh my respected brothers and sisters in Islam

Allah says, in Surah Fajr:

فَأَمَّا الْإِنسَانُ إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكْرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَكْرَمَنِ
وَأَمَّا إِذَا مَا ابْتَلَاهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّي أَهَانَنِ

Translation: And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, “My Lord has honored me.” But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, “My Lord has humiliated me.” [Surah Fajr, verses 15-16]

You’ll notice here, Allah is commenting on the mentality of the human race. When Allah gives … the human being says: “My Lord has honoured me.”

Because it’s all about wealth … money … dunya. This is the metric we use. You see the president of a country? You’re very respectful. If the same president was a homeless bum asking you for change? You wouldn’t even look at him. We equate money with respect and honour … as Allah points out.

Last person who will enter Paradise. Lets find the authentic story!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Ever wonder about the situation of the last person who will enter Paradise? Owkeiy here we have the authentic story Alhamdhulillah! May Allah make us enter it. Ameen!

'Abdullâh ibn Mas'ûd reported that the Messenger of Allâh (peace be upon him) said:

"The last person to enter paradise will be a man who will alternately walk, stagger and be touched by the Fire. Once he has passed out of the Fire, he will turn to face it and say, "Blessed be He Who has saved me from you. Allâh has given me something that He did not give to the earlier and later generations. Then a tree will be raised up for him, and he will say, "O my Rabb, bring me closer to this tree so that I may enjoy its shade and drink of its water". Allâh will say,"O son of Aadam perhaps if I grant you this, you will ask Me for something else?" He will say, "No, O Rabb, I promise that I will not ask for anything else".

Last Khutbah of Khaleefah 'Umar bin 'Abdul 'Azeez. Subuhaanallah!!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

It is reported that the last sermon ‘Umar bin ‘Abd Al-‘Aziz – Allâh have mercy on him – delivered was as follows:

He praised Allâh and said, “You were not created in vain, nor will you be left without purpose. Verily, you have an appointed time in which Allâh – the Most High – will come down to judge you. Wretched and ruined will he be who leaves the mercy of Allâh and is denied a Garden whose width is that of the heavens and Earth. Know you not that no one will be safe tomorrow save one who is wary of today and fears it; and sells the transitory for what will remain, and the little for the plenty, and fear in exchange for security [in the hereafter]?

See you not that you are in the loins of the dead, to be taken by those who remain after you, until all matters return to the Best of Inheritors?

What is Salaat al-Istikhaara (Prayer for Guidance), and how do we pray it?

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Anytime a Muslim makes a decision, he or she should seek Allah's guidance and wisdom. Because it is Allah alone who knows what is best for us, and there may be good in what we perceive as bad, and bad in what we perceive as good.

If you are unsure about a decision you have to make, there is a special prayer for guidance (Salaat al-Istikhaara) that you can do to ask for Allah's help in making your decision. Should you marry this certain person? Should you attend this graduate school? Should you go to this job or that other one? Allah knows what is best for you, and if you are unsure about a decision, seek His guidance.

The description of Salaat al-Istikhaarah was reported by Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah al-Salami (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said:

“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to teach his companions to make istikhaarah in all things, just as he used to teach them soorahs from the Qur’aan. He said: ‘If any one of you is concerned about a decision he has to make, then let him pray two rak’ahs of non-obligatory prayer, then say:

Do you know what is inside the Sacred House (Ka'bah)? Its with you now!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Did you ever wonder what is inside of the Sacred House my dear brothers and sisters? Okey lets try if we can see it inshaAllah.

This is a picture of Secred House's door.

This is inside.

King and some people coming out from Secred House.

Now what am I going to tell you? Well, lets find out what exactly is inside the Secred House.

Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi is the president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). He had the opportunity to go inside the kaaba in October 1998.

He described the following features:

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

"You ruled! You were just. Thus you were safe. Thus you slept."

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Ink will dry up and papers will finish before it is able to describe all the living examples of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Rightly guided Khaliphs who have succeeded him. Let me just mention on incident here, for the benefit of us all inshaAllah my dear brothers and sisters.

Al-Hurmazaan – the advisor to Kirsra – comes to Madeenah, wearing the best of clothes made of silk and gold. He enters Madeenah, and asks for the palace of the khaleefa. They said, “He has no palace.” He said, “Where is his house then?” They showed him a house made of mud, and pointed to it. He asked, “so where are his guards?” They said, “There are no guards.”

Al-Hurmazaan knocks on the door, and Umar (radiyallahu 'anh)’s son answers.
“Where is the khaleefah?”
“Look for him in the Masjid.” came the reply.

Just a different perspective of what "failure" really is. Lets analyse!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

"I am a big failure", "I am lost", "I cannot do it any further", "I am repeatedly failed".

Above are some of the statements which often are heard from the Youth of this Ummah. Some words that are uttered without much thinking, due to different situations in which they could not fulfill their target. However, if you think for a while, you will inshaAllah come to know that their cannot be anything called "failure" for a Believer in this world. The failed is the one who is entered Hell Fire on the day of Judgement, and lost the Bliss of Joy in Paradise. (May Allah prevent us all).

Let us analyse a bit further regarding the matter. This is what my weak brain has concluded, after deep pondering on the matter for many months.

Failure according to the dictionary is "nonperformance of something due, required, or expected". InshaAllah we are going to discuss about the meaning of being "failed".

Many a times, when we cannot complete something as how we wished, or could not achieve something we wanted, we label ourselves as a failure. However, this is not even nearly to be a true statement, even with the meaning Dictionary has provided us with.

Tameem al-Daari saw Dajjaal (Anti-Crist). Lets read the authentic story!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

It was narrated that Faatimah bint Qays (may Allaah be pleased with her) said:  I heard the voice of the caller, the caller of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), saying: Al-salaatu jaami’ah (prayer is about to begin), so I went out to the mosque and I prayed with the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). I was in the women’s row that was closest to the people. When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had finished his prayer, he sat on the minbar and he was smiling. He said: “Let each person stay in the place where he just prayed.” Then he said: “Do you know why I called you together?”

They said: Allaah and His Messenger know best.

"The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “By Allah, I did not call you together for an exhortation or for a warning. I have called you together because Tameem al-Daari was a Christian and he came and swore allegiance and became Muslim, and told me something which agrees with what I was telling you about the Dajjaal (false messiah). He told me that he sailed in a ship with thirty men of Lakhm and Judhaam and they were tossed by the waves of the sea for a month. Then they came to an island at sunset. They sat in a small rowing-boat and landed on that island. They were met by a beast with a great deal of hair and they could not distinguish his face from his back because he was so hairy.

They said: ‘Woe to you, what are you?’

It said: ‘I am al-Jassaasah.’

They said: ‘What is al-Jassaasah?’

It said: ‘O people, go to this man in the monastery for he keen to know about you.’

Conditions of Making Du'a. Often we miss this. Lets learn before its too late!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

There are many conditions of du’a, including the following:

1 – You should call upon no one except Allaah.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If you ask, then ask of Allaah, and if you seek help, then seek the help of Allaah.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2516; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’.

This is what is meant by the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And the mosques are for Allaah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allaah” ( Surah al-Jinn, Verse 18)

This is the most important condition of du’a, without which no du’a will be accepted and no good deed taken up. There are some people who make du’a to the dead and regard them as intermediaries between them and Allaah. They claim that these righteous people will bring them closer to Allaah and intercede for them with Him, and they claim that their sins are so great that they have no status before Allaah, and that is why they set up these intermediaries and pray to them instead of Allaah. But Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor)” (Surah al-Baqarah, Verse 186)

2 – You should seek to draw close to Allaah in one of the ways that are prescribed in sharee’ah.

3 – You should avoid seeking a quick response, for this is one of the problems that may prevent the du’aa’ from being accepted.

In the hadeeth it says: “One of you may be answered so long as he is not hasty and says, ‘I said du’aa’ but I got no response.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.

Iram, the lost City? Quran is proven by facts. Allahu Akbar!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Since Allah revealed Quran, its proving that it is the word of Nobody Else other than Allah. Through different means and ways, with facts.

Let us ponder a little about the verses I quote below.

Allah says in Surah al-Fajr, verses 6 to 13, "Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad - [With] Iram - who had lofty pillars, The likes of whom had never been created in the land? And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley? And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - [All of] whom oppressed within the lands And increased therein the corruption. So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment."

In this post, we are going to discuss about the one I have made bold up in that verse inshaAllah.

Ubar, a name of a region or a name of a people, was mentioned in ancient records, and was spoken of in folk tales as a trading center of the Rub' al Khali desert in the southern part of the Arabian peninsula. It is estimated that it lasted from about 3000 BC to the 1st century AD.

Salmaan al-Faarisi (Radiyallahu 'Anh)'s Journey to Islam. Subuhaanallah!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: Salmaan al-Faarisi told me his story from his own lips. He said:

I was a Persian man, one of the people of Isbahaan, from a village thereof called Jayy. My father was the chieftain of his village, and I was the dearest of Allaah’s creation to him. He loved me so much that he kept me in his house near the fire, as girls are kept in. I strove hard in the Magian religion until I became the keeper of the fire, which I tended and did not let go out for a moment.

My father had a huge garden, and he was busy one day with some construction work, so he said: “O my son, I am too busy with this building today, go and check my garden,” and he told me some of the things he wanted done. I went out, heading towards his garden, and I passed by one of the Christian churches, where I could hear their voices as they were praying. I did not know anything about the people because my father had kept me in his house. When I passed by and heard their voices, I entered upon them to see what they were doing. When I saw them, I was impressed with their prayer and I was attracted to their way.

I said: By Allaah, this is better than the religion that we follow. By Allaah, I did not leave them until the sun set, and I forgot about my father’s garden and did not go there.

I said to them: Where did this religion originate?

They said: In Syria.

Then I went back to my father, who had sent people out to look for me, and I had distracted him from all his work.

When I came to him, he said: O my son, where were you? Did I not ask you to do what I asked?

How does Allah Respond Our Du'as?? Lets find out!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Often some of us claim that, "Oh! I have been making Du'a so sincerely for a very long time, yet still no response". This is a serious matter which we need to understand thoroughly. Therefore, in this post, we are inshaAllah going to discuss about this issue.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A person will still be answered so long as his du’aa’ does not involve sin or severing ties of kinship, and so long as he does not become impatient.” It was said: O Messenger of Allaah, what does being impatient mean? He said: “Saying, I said du’aa’, and I said du’aa’, and I did not receive any response, then he becomes frustrated and stops saying du’aa’.”  (Narrated by Muslim (2735)).

A misconception among most of us is that, when a Du'a is made, Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) will respond to it ONLY in the way and with what we asked. This is wrong my brothers and sisters. Let us analyse what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said about this.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any du’aa’ in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allaah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his du’aa’ sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.” They said: “We will say a lot of du’aa’.” He said: “Allaah is more generous.”  (Narrated by Ahmad (10749), classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1633)).

So now we are clear that Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) responds our Du'as in either of 3 ways.

1- Answering our Du'a soon after we make it.
