How does Allah Respond Our Du'as?? Lets find out!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Often some of us claim that, "Oh! I have been making Du'a so sincerely for a very long time, yet still no response". This is a serious matter which we need to understand thoroughly. Therefore, in this post, we are inshaAllah going to discuss about this issue.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A person will still be answered so long as his du’aa’ does not involve sin or severing ties of kinship, and so long as he does not become impatient.” It was said: O Messenger of Allaah, what does being impatient mean? He said: “Saying, I said du’aa’, and I said du’aa’, and I did not receive any response, then he becomes frustrated and stops saying du’aa’.”  (Narrated by Muslim (2735)).

A misconception among most of us is that, when a Du'a is made, Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) will respond to it ONLY in the way and with what we asked. This is wrong my brothers and sisters. Let us analyse what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said about this.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no Muslim who does not offer any du’aa’ in which there is no sin or severing of family ties but Allaah will give him one of three things in return: either He will answer his du’aa’ sooner, or he will store it up for him in the Hereafter, or He will divert an equivalent evil away from him because of it.” They said: “We will say a lot of du’aa’.” He said: “Allaah is more generous.”  (Narrated by Ahmad (10749), classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1633)).

So now we are clear that Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) responds our Du'as in either of 3 ways.

1- Answering our Du'a soon after we make it.

Letters of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the Leaders - Part 9

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

A Letter to the King of ‘Oman, Jaifer, and his Brother ‘Abd Al-Jalandi

"In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

From Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah to Jaifer and ‘Abd Al-Jalandi.

Peace be upon him who follows true guidance; thereafter I invite both of you to the Call of Islam. Embrace Islam. Allâh has sent me as a Prophet to all His creatures in order that I may instil fear of Allâh in the hearts of His disobedient creatures so that there may be left no excuse for those who deny Allâh. If you two accept Islam, you will remain in command of your country; but if you refuse my Call, you’ve got to remember that all your possessions are perishable. My horsemen will appropriate your land, and my Prophethood will assume preponderance over your kingship."

‘Amr bin Al-’As, who was chosen to carry the letter, narrated the following story that happened before he was admitted into the audience of Jaifer.
"When I arrived in ‘Oman I contacted ‘Abd, who was known to be more mild-tempered than his brother:

‘Amr: I am the messenger of Allâh’s Prophet coming to see both, you and your brother.

‘Abd: You have to see my brother and read to him the letter you are carrying. He is my senior in both age and kingship. Incidentally, what is the purport of your mission?

‘Amr: The Prophet calls upon you to believe in Allâh Alone with no associate, discard any other deities and testify to the slavehood and Messengership of Muhammad.

Letters of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the Leaders - Part 8

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

A Letter to Harith bin Abi Shamir Al-Ghassani, King of Damascus

"In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

From Muhammad, Messenger of Allâh to Al-Harith bin Abi Shamir.

Peace be upon him who follows true guidance, believes in it and regards it as true. I invite you to believe in Allâh Alone with no associate, thenceafter your kingdom will remain yours."

Shuja‘ bin Wahab had the honour of taking the letter to Harith, who upon hearing the letter read in his audience, was madly infuriated and uttered:

"Who dares to disposs me of my country, I’ll fight him (the Prophet)," and arrogantly rejected the Prophet’s invitation to the fold of Islam. [Za'd Al-Ma'ad 3/62; Muhadarat Tareekh Al-Umam Al-Islamiyah 1/146]

Butterflies do "Hijab". Allahu Akbar!

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Scientists in Japan have observed that the butterflies have a simple way to avoid the unwanted attention of persistent males; they close their wings.

By folding away their bright, striking wing patterns, the females make themselves less visible to males.

The scientists describe their findings in the journal Ethology.

Lead researcher and butterfly lover Jun-Ya Ide from the Kurume Institute of Technology in Fukuoka, had noticed that female small copper butterflies often closed their wings when other copper butterflies flew very close to them.

"I also found that she closed the wings at a lower rate when other butterfly species flew nearby," said Dr Ide. And he set about trying to find out why this might be.

Mercy to all the livings. Just one example.

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once entered the garden of man from the Ansar (Muslims of Madinah) and there was a camel. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the camel it froze and its eyes started watering. The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to it and rubbed its ears so it calmed down. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Who is the owner of this camel? Whose camel is this?” A young man from the Ansar told him (peace and blessings be upon him),“O Messenger of Allah, it belongs to me.” Then he told him (peace and blessings be upon him and his house), “Do you not fear Allah with regard to this beast which Allah has let you own? It complained to me that you starve it and tire it by overworking it and using it beyond its capacity.”
(Narrated by imam Ahmed and Abu Dawud and Al Hakim in the Mustadrak.)

The Best Of You???

Assalam 'Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

In this post, we are going to see some of the words of Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), on the topic 'The Best Of You'.

"The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

"The best among you are those who are best to their wives". (Sunan Ibn Majah and Tirmidhi)

"The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." (Sahih Bukhari)

"The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter. Then there will come some people who will bear witness before taking oaths, and take oaths before bearing witness."  (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
